Group concept feedback Matt, Luke and Mike
My group and I decided to pitch one of my ideas which had to do a lot with shadows and silhouettes. To be more specific it was my concept 1. We were very unsure of that idea all we had in mind was that we have a female artist and we spin a light bulb around her. We showed some picture from my blog post and as it seemed all 3 of them enjoyed the idea and started adding to it. We were given the idea of making it look like an old animation disk which would spin around, this idea would involve a lot of layering. And another small part that was added was having the band’s shadows preform separately from the actual cast. We took that feedback in consideration, however the more we thought about it themes we actually enjoyed it.
So leaving Luke, Matt and Mike we decided to start completely new. We decided to change completely everything, genre, concept, main artist and etc. One thing we knew for sure is that all 3 of us want to work with scale, so either small people of giant objects, which originally was Hugo’s idea. As we started developing we came up with an idea of having a small miniature maquette town.
We would see a man that owns the maquette standing over it and placing small figures of people in a house, as he puts them down we see that the small men become alive and start having a band practice in the miniature house.
Once the owner is done “playing” with his town he goes to bed and wakes up in the town realizing that he is now a part of the world that he created. As a third element to this idea we were thinking to do something with a girl but we weren’t sure yet again.
Starting to research and getting into all the details we realized just how difficult it would be to make a maquette of a town, mainly it would be really expensive.
We pitched this idea to Mike and he warned us about some complications with this idea, like for example the maquette would have to be really big, we would really need a third element and that no matter what we do it will look very cheesy, and lastly to not over complicate it. Usually the best videos are the simplistic ones.
We took that all in consideration and chose to sleep on it, call the next day and discuss it all properly.
