Why is a Digipak important?

Every digipak has the following:

• Front cover, back cover, inside , the spine and the cd slot
• Track list on the back (10-16 tracks)
• Barcode 
• Recording comany strip on the back

What is the purpose of a digipak?

• Shows the artist/band 
• Advertising the genre 
• Projects the mood, ideology of the album and artist 
• Eye catching 
• Attracts new audiences 
• Building a connection with audience

In class we compared 2 different artists, and their album artwork. We also connected the album artwork to their music videos.

Green day- american idiot

Punk rock
-Identifies the genre well by the coulour scheme.
-Uses a lot of political symbolism related to war.
-A sence of rebeliousness.

What connects the music video to the album?
-They show the album cover multiple times.
-The grimy style of the video connects with the genre.

Taylor Swift-Fearless

Pop
- Her hairstyle makes her look powerful and feminine.
-The font used to write her name looks like it could
  be her signature which makes her fans feel closer and more
  connected to her.
-The colour scheme is very rich but soft.

 What connects the music video to the album?
 -She is fearless in the music video.
 -Her hairstyle and outfit are similar to the album    
cover.
  -The same colour scheme is used, of soft golden colours.
